The Albatross D.Va is one of my favorite biplanes at the Aerodrome. It has beautiful lines, and the lacquered wood fuselage gives it a bit of a sailing ship feel. The smoke coming from the engine was just part of the show… a little oil injected into the exhaust.
Excellent shot, razor sharp. I really like it.
My only concern is the prop doesn’t appear to be turning. I’m assuming you used a fast shutter speed to freeze the motion, and that froze the prop as well. Unless the pilot killed the engine and is preforming a “dead-stick” landing?
That isn’t a criticism, the shot is great. It just bothers me that the prop is stalled…

Thanks for the comments Tom. My shutter speed was way too fast to get any good prop blur. I’m not the best at panning, and I don’t own a long VR lens. I was hoping nobody would notice from this angle 🙂
I have to say that for the last few of hours i have been hooked by the impressive posts on this website. Keep up the great work.
