The foliage peaked in my area this week. I spent about an hour in my back yard with the D200 and 50mm f/1.2 on Saturday taking these shots. The 50mm f/1.2 is one of the fastest F mount lenses Nikon ever made. My copy is an older AI version, with a 7 blade aperture. Nikon still lists the newer 9 blade AI-S version in their catalog, but everyone seems to be out of stock right now. Shooting hand held, wide open, it can be difficult to get critical focus especially with if you have eyes like mine. But ultra sharp focus is not what this lens is about wide open. It’s about narrow depth of field, great color, and a feeling like you are making a painting instead of a photograph.
Enjoy!
